Is the Dai money supply limited by the demand for margin trading in the collateral currencies?

In other words, is there any major reason other than margin trading to open a CDP?
What's the plan for when the demand for margin trading has been exhausted and there's more demand for dai?
I understand there are a few other minor use cases for CDPs, like if you have a long-term investment in an asset and need short-term liquidity, or arbitrage if the price of dai is very far from the target price ($1 for now), but even accounting for that, the supply of Dai remains fairly limited, no?

BCH margin trading with BCH collateral?

Hi there,
Anybody know where one can open BCH/USD or BCH/EUR margin positions using BCH as collateral? Kraken only allows BTC and ETH as collateral.

Preferably friendly to U.S. citizens.

When will Kraken enable LTC as a collateral currency for Margin Trading?

This would boost the price of LTC as ETH and BTC investors will be incentivized to transfer over.

Which currencies can be used as collateral for margin trading?

This is unclear and not specifically mentioned in the bitifnex knowledge base. There is only a mention that USD (and presumably EUR) can be used with a 3.33 leverage and that BTC leverage is adjusted to 3.33-0.3=3.033.
Does that mean that only fiat and BTC can be used as collateral? If not can any currency traded on bitifnex be used? How is the leverage factor then adjusted.?

Please allow us to use "not currently available for leverage" coins as collateral for others pais margin trading

We can't have coins that aren't available for leverage in margin wallets, but I don't see why, as we could use it as collateral for open margin positions for pairs that can be traded with margin trading... If trade result in loses the coins can be liquidated in exchange market. What do you think?

"Insufficient collateral available in your margin balance" - poloniex margin trading

Does anybody have this issue constantly? I just don't understand it. I can have a positive margin, a positive unrealized P/L, and available btc to buy coins. But I get this popup over and over again. I'm forced to continuously reduce the amount I'm trying to buy until I'm at the minimum (0.02) and often times it still wont let me do it, even if I have an entire BTC available to borrow. What gives?
