What is your crypto trading setup/what tools do you use etc
Hi guys, Relatively new to crypto world, been in it since late July. Wondering what kind of setup you guys have? I've had one 1080p monitor this whole time, bought a new 4k one and will use both...not sure what to look at though. For the time being all I do is look at Bittrex, read relevant subreddits about crypto, read coindesk and other websites/articles I find about what's going on, a few telegram groups, recently joined slack (Doesn't seem useful), coinmarketcap or worldcoinindex for quick scouting of random coins. I have felt for a while now this is not sufficient, as I get news late and price action is already happening by the time I'm aware... What are your guys news sources, any web apps etc to make like a 'news suite' from multiple sources, what is your setup like? Best place to get the news first? I've also signed up to tradingview and coinigy but don't understand charts properly yet, also was wondering with coinigy, why is it good to be able to trade across lots of different exchanges at the same time?
💵 Hello amigos 💵 Mrs. Mara showed up today. At first I was like nah, then she showed me her bitcoin correlation and I was like, okay maybe. I have a bro I trade with, whom I met in 3rd grade ‘gifted & talented’ program. I feel like he’s better than me at fundamental analysis. Anyway we were discussing this stock because it showed up on my screener and the chart looked the best out of the five today (amtx was 2nd place.) he told me it’s a bitcoin mining company. I told him, ‘Bro MARA spiked to $1.40 on June 10th.’ Bro: ‘is that the day that bitcoin ran up to $10,000?’ Turns out, yes it was. Apparently the price of Mara is correlated to the price of bitcoin. Which is great. We won’t discuss bitcoin here, but I’m very bullish on bitcoin. Here are the charts for MARA: click this bro It’s a weekly break out pattern at $1, looks like it wants to break out in the medium term. Top of red triangle is $1 level. On the daily chart, you can see that daily candle that spiked to $1.40. You can also see the price tightening in between the 50 & 200ema (black and white curved lines) indicating a big move coming. I did see that they filed for an offering on June 29th I believe. Couldn’t really find much more info on it though. Just something to be aware of for sure. I’m waiting on settled funds in webull. But here’s my plan: Buy price: $0.91-$0.99 Target 1: $1.34 Target 2: $1.67 (pennant flagpole target) Stop loss: $0.7647 Gonna risk five percent of my total account on this one.
Since it's been obvious for a long time that when bitcoin runs, alts get rekt, I thought a discussion about the specifics of using this to our advantage might be useful as vert traders. Specifically: What's your strategy and any tips (besides the obvious one of moving into btc early on a run and moving back to vert when btc is high and vtc is rekt which can be harder than it sounds)? Does anyone use a third trading pair during these times to avoid premature moves or for something else? My example: I moved some vert into btc at 7600 through 7800. When btc hit 7900 and then started dipping, i moved into BAT which I saw was up alot during this whole time on news, I held through the small dip to 7700 and sure enough btc rose again to 7900, I sold back into BTC at a small gain(luck) at 7840. This all saved me from selling at the first 7900 false top prematurely back to vtc(which was falling). Im now still in BTC at 7960 watching closely(and verts still falling). USDT could have worked too for this and I use it sometimes. Do people use cost averaging on btc runs and how? What TA tools do people find most useful in these scenarios? What time charts do people use for what on a btc run?(I like the 15/30/60min charts to determine if it's reversed and the 1min to time my exact trades) How does volume figure into this? (I'm clueless) I'm a student of the game and just looking to pick up any knowledge, it's such a predictable pattern and it's one of the easiest crypto trading setups in my opinion that we should all look to maximize our gains on these runs and share some tips.

So, the first thing to do is identify a trend.I prefer to do that using 1st Deviations of VWAP (grey lines).
